This garden was designed and built with the close collaboration of the homeowners, who do a little metal-smithing in their spare time.  Taking cues from the architecture of the house, the feel is clean-lined and contemporary. Set in an area with a sweeping view of the west side of Tucson’s Catalina mountains, this garden is about vista and vignette. Scott Calhoun framed views of the mountains with succulents, and clustered interesting cactus species both in the ground and  in raised steel planters. Many of the cactus are Chihuahuan Desert species. The garden also features a pool surrounded by arborescent yuccas and native bee habitat sculptures also built by the clients.
